Scholarship

The Thomaston Democratic Town Committee is proud to continue our tradition of awarding a scholarship to a Thomaston resident who plans to study political science, communication, economics, criminal justice, or a student who demonstrates strong activism within the school and/or broader community.

Gail Lascko, a beloved and devoted member of our committee, passed away in November 2020. Shortly thereafter, our committee convened and dedicated our annual scholarship to Gail. The newly named, Gail Lascko Memorial Scholarship, is in memory of her dedication to the students of Thomaston and her work as a member of our scholarship committee.

The past year has proven challenging for so many of us. We would like to make every effort to provide our scholarship at the same levels that we have for many years, but we have been unable to hold a fundraiser for over a year. If you are able to make a small contribution that will benefit the scholarship fund directly, please consider doing so. You may donate directly online here.

Thomaston students can apply for our scholarship by obtaining the application directly from the Thomaston High School guidance office. The application is generally available in the Spring.
